Working Conference on "Software Architectures for Scientific Computing Applications"

A working conference on "Software Architectures for Scientific Computing Applications", was held on the NRC Campus, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, 2 - 4 October 2000. This was the eighth working conference organized by the IFIP Working Group on Numerical Software (WG 2.5) on behalf of the IFIP Technical Committee on Software: Theory and Practice (TC 2).

The conference focused on current and emerging issues in the design and structure of software for scientific computation, including the implications of widespread connectivity, the effects of distributed computing models such as CORBA and the Remote Method Invocation of Java, and the development of reliable, portable object-oriented numerical software.
