IFIP WG 2.5 Project 79 Floating Point Compliance and Functionality Santander 2012: =============== Hanson's technical presentation "Hardware Trends" has identified this as an area of concern and the need to start a project to monitor and identify issues and concerns that arise. He agreed to provide a project description. Shanghai 2013: ============== Dienstfrey presented slides with numerical testing of MKL accuracy performed by Hansen and introducing the topic of reproducible computing. Vienna 2014: ============ Dienstfrey led a short discussion of recent activities of this project. Dienstfrey and Hanson will provide an updated description for this project. 2022 (online): ============== This project was inspired by numerical experiments initiated by Richard Hanson. Whereas floating point compliance is a foundational topic that could touch upon many interests within WG 2.5, Dienstfrey does not feel like he is the most suitable member to lead this project further. Absent any volunteers from WG 2.5 to lead this project, he suggests that we close it for now with the idea that we could return to the topic in the future if interest re-emerges.
