IFIP WG 2.5 Project 77 Hardware Accelerators Raleigh 2009: ============= It was determined that one of our inactive projects (No. 51 -- Use of Special Purpose Hardware for Numerical Computation) should be re-opened as No. 77, with a title Hardware Accelerators. In particular this project will consider the numerical and programming issues related to the proliferation of multicore systems and the related use of multiple graphics accelerators such as GPU or Cell processors. Leuven 2010: ============ The technical invited talk by Kurt Lust on the Flemish Computer Center is a contribution to this project, and his slides are available at http://people.cs.kuleuven.be/~ronald.cools/WG2.5/presentation_Kurt_Lust.pdf The invited talk by Craig Douglas "Algebraic multigrid on GP-GPU clusters" at ICCAM 2010 is also a contribution. Boulder 2011: ============= This is a very active area of interest and receiving considerable attention in all areas of scientific computation. The technical presentations by Scott and Gansterer at this meeting and other talks at the WoCo can be considered reports of aspect of this project. Ian Reid was added to the list of members associated with this project. Santander 2012: =============== Merged with project 65.
