Project 70. WoCo8, The Architecture of Scientific Software Oxford 1996: ============ Two possible conference topics were proposed: (1) Architecture for Numerical Software (Gentleman), (2) Parallel Computing and Programming (Walter). After some discussion it was agreed that Gentleman would prepare a first draft rationale for his topic within the week. The following indicated interest in being on the program committee: Ford, Grosse, Hanson. Rice, Smith, and Vouk. The probable location will be Ottawa in mid-September, 1999. Support was expressed for having Co-Chairs for the conference. Gentleman will develop rationale for WoCo8. Ottawa 2000: ============ The WG expressed its gratitude to NRC for their strong support of this conference and also to IBM, INTEL and HP for their special contributions. Amsterdam 2001: =============== Final Report of Wo Co 8 ----------------------- This report was presented by Boisvert in Gentleman's absence. With the generous help of NRC this meeting ended up debt free. Fifty copies of the proceedings have already been distributed to the participants.
